International Scholars
GW sponsors more than 300 international scholars each year, including researchers, visiting faculty, short-term scholars, and visitors to our archival resources. Together with our many permanent faculty members from other countries, visiting scholars take full advantage of GW's resources and lend international perspectives to all disciplines. They engage fully with our talented faculty, students, and staff and participate in special lectures, conferences, and symposia.
Visiting faculty initiate contact with GW through the appropriate dean or school. Once their placement is confirmed, scholars may contact the Office of International Programs for resources and administrative guidance, or the International Services Office for support in navigating GW’s campus and the city. In addition, the International Services Office administers the immigration sponsorship required for visiting scholars to teach, perform research, consult with colleagues, share specialized knowledge, and participate in professional development activities at GW.
