Brazil Scientific Mobility Program

Inaugurated in 2011 by the government of Brazil, the Brazil Scientific Mobility Program provides scholarships to the country's undergraduate students for a semester or year of study at colleges and universities in the United States. Scholarship recipients, primarily students in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields, return to Brazil following their time abroad to complete their degrees.

Administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE), the program is part of a larger initiative to grant 100,000 scholarships to top students for study abroad at the world’s best universities.  As a partner institution, the George Washington University has hosted Scientific Mobility scholars since the Fall 2012 semester.

To Apply

Brazilian undergraduate students interested in participating in the program must submit an application first through IIE (http://www.iie.org/Programs/Brazil-Scientific-Mobility/Apply-Now), regardless of the track they are applying through (CAPES or CNPq). IIE will forward applications to GW for consideration.
